It's been a while since I've read a good book. For someone with a normally insatiable appetite for reading, this is quite unusal. I also haven't read anything serious in quite some time. The last few books I've read, with the exception of a few non-fiction titles, have been engrossing but easily forgotten paperbacks usually selected from the rack at the grocery store. Mostly thriller/mystery novels, good for a few hours entertainment on a dull afternoon.

But I'm starting to crave serious literature again. I've been tempted to dig through some boxes in the basement for my copy of Hamlet, because I'm in need of some thought-provoking reading. Plus, I always loved Shakespeare.

Now I sound pretentious. Dammit.
